Christmas Trees

Christmas starts when the tree goes up.

There are three places (that I know of) in West Sac to get a Christmas tree. Two Christmas tree lots on Jefferson – one near Jefferson and 19th, and  Chad’s Christmas Trees on Jefferson and 13th.

The third place is Dave’s Xmas Trees – also known as Dave’s Pumpkin Patch in October and Vierra Farms year round.

Dave’s is a cute little family farm in West Sac.

Very photographic, big tractors and small animals. Friendly people who want to help you with your tree and fry up some doughnuts.

About those doughnuts. Dave’s signs advertise “Fresh Hot Cider And Doughnuts,” – at least, I THOUGHT that’s what they said, until I found out that they are actually HOT-CIDER-DOUGHNUTS made fresh when you order them. And they are amazing.

Back to the trees. Dave’s carries three types of Christmas trees – Doug Fir, Silver Fir and Grand Fir – as well as little table top trees and fresh wreaths.

Goats and Dave's Christmas Trees

Each tree has a rebar stand already attached to the bottom, which keeps the trees nice longer because they aren’t standing dry on the lot. It also saves you from having to put the tree in your own stand.

They also offer home delivery, if you don’t have a truck to haul your tree, and they will flock the tree for you if you’d like.

I failed to get the price at Dave’s, but Chad’s tree lot charges between $20 and $50 for a 6 foot tree (depending on the type) and the other tree lot only sells Noble Firs from Oregon, and their sign says $45+ tax for any tree (they all look at least 6 feet tall).

So if you haven’t got your tree yet, you have some options.

Cheers!

Thanks Dave's Xmas Trees
